Specialty Items

Household Hazardous Waste
Washtenaw County has two locations for residents to dispose of household hazardous waste for free like paint, household cleaners, batteries, and more. Materials from businesses are not accepted. Appointments are required. To book an appointment or for more information, visit: washtenaw.org/hometoxics

Electronics Recycling
Electronics cannot go in your curbside recycling, but they can be recycled if collected separately! Take your electronics to a drop-off location that accepts them. Search in the Waste Wizard for your specific item or learn more at washtenaw.org/electronics

Reuse

Looking to get rid of extra stuff that's still usable? Consider listing items on an online marketplace or free swap page. Or, find out what your local thrift stores will accept.

Thrift Stores
Some thrift stores will come to you to pick up large items or loads.
Goodwill of Southeast Michigan
Habitat for Humanity Restore
Kiwanis Thrift of Ann Arbor
...and many more! Check for a shop near you to support your local community.
